Voice Lessons
Vocalises & Warm Up
Each lesson begins with vocal warm up through well versed vocalises (i.e. Vaccai).
Sight Singing
Working in tandem with aural training, sight reading helps singers to better be prepared for auditions, learning of new repertoire, and further increases a singer's understanding of musical theory and composition.
Healthy Singing Techniques
Through vocalises and warming up, special attention is brought to healthy singing techniques such as posture, air flow, breath support, proper vowel placement, and more.
Repertoire
The remainder of the lesson will be spent working on the repertoire the singer is currently focusing on whether it be for an upcoming performance, audition, or a piece which has been assigned by me that will help challenge the singer's abilities.
Aural Training
Aural training, or ear training, is crucial to vocalists to better sight read, understand musical theory and composition from an aural perspective, and helps with accuracy and pitch across all repertoires.
Musical Theory
A strong understanding of musical theory is essential for all musicians, but especially vocalists. Students who need a stronger understanding of musical theory will be given musical theory exercises in their lessons in tandem with aural training and sight singing.
